Announcing... Google Sites!

The project that I had the honor to work on this summer just launched - Google Sites! Congratulations to Scott and Mandy and the entire Google Sites team! Well done.

Launching first to Google Apps users (and hopefully later to the masses), Google Sites is a new Google product for team content sharing and collaboration. Targeted at three main audiences (small business, project teams, and teachers), Google makes it really simple to put one of these pages together. Just drop in a few widgets (Google Calendar, a countdown, or a word of the day) and you're off! Google Sites makes it easy to edit these pages, to invite others to view and edit, and to set permissions for the other users. Version 1 is a good first attempt at making a very Googley workspace application, and I can't wait to see what the team does for V2.
