Ryan and JT - the perfect combination
Ryan came into town this weekend to visit and to see James Taylor. The concert was part of JT's One Man Band Tour, the stripped down version of his summer tour. He brings along the piano/keyboard player Larry Goldings and his giant drum machine, Louie. Ok, so he didn't call him Louie, but I think that it is a great name for it.
Anyway, he got into town on Friday night and we went out to eat in Decatur. We found the perfect parking spot, and rolled into the Brickstore just in time to wait an hour to be seated. It was okay though, we found a nice spot at the bar and had a few drinks. Saturday we woke up and ran a few errands - library, Marco's Pita, and REI. Then we came back and studied for a few hours until JT.
At 6pm we walked to dinner at Avra Greek Tavern, on the corner of 5th and Peachtree (about 4 blocks away from my house). We ate dinner and dessert, and then walked to JT at the Fox Theatre. The concert was great! Too bad they didn't sell any posters. :(
Sunday morning we got up and got Ryan ready to leave. We had a bite to eat at Einstein's Bagels, and then Ryan took off. Such a short but great visit. Check out photos from the concert below (none of JT but a lot of us making silly picture faces).
